Owen Square Community Energy Project
We warmly invite you to our two consultation events regarding an innovative community energy system on Saturday 27th 10am – 12 noon and Tuesday 30th 7pm – 9pm at Easton Community Centre.
(light refreshments provided)
The not-for-profit scheme is a pilot installation of an Energy Centre that seeks to capture and store summer heat in the ground for use in colder winter months.
Easton Community Centre have agreed to partner on this pioneering energy project, which will help the community to become more resilient in an uncertain energy market. The system will provide low cost, low carbon and secure energy for the Community Centre, saving money on their heating bills. The project also aims to be extended to provide energy for local residents too.
It is hoped work on the Energy Centre will start in the Autumn. During the 10 – 12 week construction the park will remain largely open with small sections closed off in phases. None of the playground equipment will be removed. A small Energy Centre will remain next to the Community Centre.
Further information about the scheme will be available at the consultation meetings and at Easton Community Centre thereafter.
