We’ve started off slowly, but steadily in 2017. It was brilliant seeing so many people come to our Clothes Swap at the beginning of February! Watch this space for the next one, likely to happen late Spring.
At the end of the February, we held our AGM. It was lovely to have some input from members on how we can help our community. We will continue to support people in fuel poverty, offer information on switching, draught-proofing and retrofitting, as well as on renewable energy opportunities. As energy is intrinsically linked to so many aspects of our daily lives, we talked about trying to make those connections more often with more people. Food miles, our relationship with consumption and waste, the way we choose to travel locally, and even how we garden can make a difference to the livability of our area.
We’d love to explore these issues more with you, so please join us at a members meeting (late April) or come have a chat with us when we are at local events. We will be at the Safer Streets Street Party in front of Bannerman Road School on 16th March after school. On the 25th of March, Zoe will be talking about EEG and other projects at the Up Our Street Festival of Solutions held at Easton Community Centre from 11 am – 6 pm.
At the end of the month, Regen SW is holding their annual Smart Energy Marketplace event in Exeter – it is the largest energy event in the south west and worth attending if you want to learn more about renewable energy, smart energy technology, electric vehicle trends and more. We will be at this event with our Bristol Energy Network colleagues.
Hope to see you soon! If you can’t make any of these events, fear not, there will be more to come, with confirmed dates. Also, if you want to get in touch, you can drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
